About Us
We are an all-styles Hip Hop studio with the goal of building a dance community centered around inclusivity, community, friendship, and family. Currently, we offer 1-on-1 classes, with aspirations of creating competition teams. Eventually, we plan to increase our repertoire of dance styles, providing guidance in dance techniques aside from just Hip Hop!
At Rhythm Dance Movement, we incorporate various styles of Hip Hop, from breaking to popping and everything in between— developing musicality, hard hitting movements, body isolations, energy, textures, and, of course, the ability to freestyle!
Students are encouraged to grow at their own pace, learning new skills, techniques, and combos. Respect, hard work, compassion, and support are all expectations at Rhythm DM - we aim to be a safe haven for those who love to express themselves through dance.
David, the founder of Rhythm DM, has over 20 years of experience in dance, and can confidently say we offer the best in Hip Hop guidance for all ages. So whether you're a veteran looking to push your abilities even further, or just don't want to be so stiff at the next wedding reception, you've found the right studio! Come try a session, and let's help you find your Rhythm!

David Manivong
Owner
Born in Washington and raised in Idaho, David began dancing at the age of 5. He was self taught until the age of 13. That's when his dancing career started. A friend who saw him constantly freestyle dancing around school asked him to be a part of a quinceañera. During their practices the choreographer and an owner of a hip hop studio, saw David's potential and immediately began working with him - bringing his idea and visuals of dance to life. David's love for education began when he was given the opportunity to choreograph and teach others. This job sooned turned into a passion.
While exploring different styles of dance, he developed an even greater passion for hip hop. As a dancer, David achieved many awards, from winning battle fest 2004 a 3 day hip hop competition, to Best Male Dancer in the Treasure Valley in 2012. By 18 years old, David had won every hip hop dance battle he entered and had the honor of working with several musical artists such as Baby Bash, Coolio, Tech N9ne and Hilary Duff. Over the years, he has helped local dance companies and families with solo and group pieces for competitions, birthday celebrations, corporate events, local and community events, and weddings. David has choreographed and performed for RAW Fashion Show, A Dancer's Prologue, Relay for Life, Capes & Crowns, Soul Food Extravaganza, Idaho Stampede, and more. In 2016, David was invited to be a choreographer for Dancing with the Stars of the Treasure Valley. He was paired with Mrs. World 2013. Together, they won raising over $10,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Over the years, David's students have been very successful in their dance competitions winning many high score awards and overall placements. David feels that it is important for his students to feel confident, motivated and inspired at all times and that they are in an environment they feel comfortable in. David wants to see his students succeed, be proud of their accomplishments and enjoy all of the hard work and dedication they put into dance.
